Aam Aadmi Party today announced withdrawal of Prithvi Amonkar as its candidate from Siolim constituency in Goa for upcoming Assembly elections.

Amonkar's name was amongst 25 candidates announced by AAP for the polls, due next year.

"It was amicable to decide that Amonkar would not be contesting the election on AAP ticket from Siolim seat," AAP campaign committee chairperson Rajashreee Nagarcekar told PTI.

She said AAP had noticed that popularity of Amonkar was not increasing in the constituency and that it remained stagnated.

"We had two-three meetings with Amonkar. The sentiments were conveyed to him. It was finally decided that someone else should contest in this constituency," she said.

AAP will contest all 40 seats.
