Gearing up for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party today appointed Raghav Chadha, Dilip Pandey and Atishi Marlena as in-charge of constituencies in Delhi.

The AAP has picked Marlena for East Delhi constituency and Chadha has been made the in-charge of South Delhi seat.

Marlena was advisor to Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia, but she was removed from the post following an order of Delhi government's General Administration Department after the Centre told it that the appointment was made without the prior approval of Lt Governor Anil Baijal.

For North East Delhi seat, the AAP has appointed its spokesperson and former Delhi unit convenor Dilip Pandey. Pankaj Gupta has been chosen as in-charge of Chandni Chowk.

For North West Delhi constituency, it has chosen Guggan Singh Ranga, a former BJP MLA who switched sides after the party chose Ved Prakash over him in the Bawana bypoll.

"In a major step, which will further strengthen the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi, it has appointed five Lok Sabha in-charges (prabharis) for parliamentary constituencies of Delhi. Five senior leaders of the party have been assigned separate parliamentary constituencies for micro-focus on the parliament seats and strengthening the organization further on the seats assigned," the party said.

However, party sources indicated that they could be AAP candidates for the Lok Sabha polls from the seats.

AAP's Delhi unit convenor Gopal Rai said: "We are appointing them as prabharis in order to further strengthen the party at the booth level. They will focus on further building up the organisation in the respective Lok Sabha seats."

In the previous Lok Sabha polls, the AAP drew a blank while the BJP won all the seven seats.
