AAP's Kotkapura candidate has been booked for allegedly stealing and removing SAD posters in the town area of the Assembly constituency, police said today.

The candidate, Kultar Singh Sandhwan, and 30 others have been booked under relevant sections of the IPC including theft, they said.

The accused allegedly also threatened to remove pictures of the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister from the office of the Kotkapura Municipal Committee, police said, adding a complaint has been registered by authorities.

The committee's executive officer in a complaint alleged that three day's ago, on directions of the Faridkot Deputy Commissioner, Municipal employees started a special drive to remove hoardings and posters of all political party here.

However, when these employees started removing AAP posters they faced strong opposition from Sandhwan and his supporters, the officer said in the complaint.

The complainant alleged that the AAP candidate misbehaved and restrained Municipal employees from doing their duties, and along with his supporters removed SAD posters.

However, Sandhwan said the criminal cases against him and his supporters was another act by the "frustrated" ruling party.
