AAP today accused the BJP-ruled North MCD of "stealing the rights of women" by "planning to construct a shopping centre" on the premises of a maternity and child welfare centre at Rani Bagh.
The party termed it as a bad move to generate revenue for the financially ailing civic body.
The party said, instead of using the premises to improve medical facilities for women, the North MCD is setting a bad precedent at a time when India's Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) is among the highest in the world.

The North MCD has, however, said no such decision has been taken to build a shopping complex on the premises.
"At a time when India's MMR is the highest in the world, the North MCD is busy generating revenue by building a shopping complex on the premises of the maternity centre," AAP spokesperson Richa Pandey said.
AAP's Rohtas Nagar MLA Sarita Singh said there is no dearth of markets and shopping complexes in Delhi, but the medical infrastructure needs a boost in several parts of the city.
"North MCD only seeks to indulge in corruption and exploitation. This time they are doing it by stealing the rights of women," Singh alleged.
Taking a jibe at the BJP, AAP Delhi Convenor Dilip Pandey said if one wants to see the 'BJP Development Model' one must visit North Delhi Municipal Corporation.
The BJP also rubbished the AAP's claims.
"Construction of the building for the centre is going on. Proposals for shopping centre were received, but no decision has been taken on this till date," said North Delhi Mayor Sanjiv Nayyar.
