The Aam Aadmi Party today demanded speedy action and arrest in the acid attack case in which a woman doctor was attacked with the chemical by two bike-borne assailants here.

"The police should take quick action and make arrests in the case and trial should be conducted in a time-bound manner. The police, which is lethargic in handling such issues, should be more proactive in dealing with these cases," AAP's Delhi convenor Ashutosh said.

He also criticised the Delhi administration over the issue and demanded that national capital should have CCTVs all over and the vacancies in police force should be filled at the earliest.

Two unidentified bike-borne assailants threw acid on a 30-year-old woman doctor here this morning in West Delhi's Rajouri Garden area.

According to the police, the incident took place around 9:30 AM in Rajouri Garden market when the woman had left home and was on her way to a hospital where she worked in the same area.
