AAP has become 'B-team' of BJP: Congress

Congress today accused AAP with helping BJP in Punjab and Goa assembly polls by becoming the saffron party's "B-team".

It said the AAP will now be "ousted" in upcoming civic polls in national capital, like it was in the elections held in the two states.

"AAP contests only in those states where the BJP and Congress are in direct contest so that it can help the BJP by becoming its B-team," Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala told reporters here.

Surjewala said the Congress is "indebted" to voters in Punjab and Goa, where AAP contested polls, for "disrupting those who call themselves disruptionist".

"(Now) people of Delhi will also oust them in civic polls. Those who dreamt of becoming an alternative to Congress, their dreams have been shattered," he said, taunting the Aam Aadmi Party which he said has become "khaas" (special).

Faced with a triangular contest in Goa, the AAP failed to open its account in the state, where Congress emerged as single largest party winning 16 seats (outcome in one of the 40 assembly segment awaited). The BJP won 13 seats there.

The AAP clinched victory in 20 assembly segments in Punjab, where Congress is set to form government, bagging 76 seats.
