The nephew of an Aam Aadmi Party MLA was today booked for allegedly assaulting a Swaraj India worker in southeast Delhi's Tughlakabad area today during the MCD polls.

According to police, a PCR call was received around 11.23 AM about the incident in which 38-year-old Abhay Kumar was roughed up by Amit Bidhuri.

Bidhuri, who is related to AAP MLA Sahi Ram Pehelwan, had gone to the Swaraj India's table near a polling centre where he and Kumar engaged in an altercation, police said.

An annoyed Bhiduri hit Kumar, who was then taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre with a minor injury, they said.

A case has been registered against Bidhuri and further investigation is underway, police said.
