AAP today demanded filing of a case against senior BJP leader V K Malhotra for his "extremely inflammatory and false" reported statement that Jamia Nagar and Batla House have become safe houses for terrorists.
Approaching Election Commission for issuing such directions today, AAP said Malhotra attempted to brand Jamia Nagar and Batla Houses as "terror hubs" in the national capital.
"Such an inflammatory statement linking particular areas with terrorism has been made with a clear design to project a particular community in bad light. Further, Malhotra has mentioned the name of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in his press conference," AAP Delhi Unit Secretary Dilip K Pandey said in a letter to EC today.

Pandey said Malhotra's statement constitutes a criminal offence and the AAP requests the EC to direct the concerned authorities to register a criminal case against him under section 153 of the Indian Penal Code.
"The statement is also a clear violation of the Model Code of Conduct and the AAP demands that the Election Commission should take all possible measures to ensure such attempts to disrupt peace and harmony, particularly when the general elections in the country are just round the corner," Pandey said.
