On the penultimate day of filing nominations, Aam Aam Party today announced change of candidates in two Lok Sabha and two Assembly constituencies in Gujarat because of "unavoidable circumstances".

Tomorrow is the last day of filing nomination.

A press release from AAP said the party had replaced its candidate from Rajkot Lok Sabha seat, Pinal Savalia, with Ankur Dhamelia. Dhamelia is a wholesale trader of surgical products and a social worker.

It said Savalia met with an accident recently, and because of the injuries, was not able to contest.

In the other three cases, AAP said, the declared candidates decided to withdraw, citing personal reasons.

Thus, Thakor Bhai Gami, from Bardoli (ST) Lok Sabha constituency, has been now replaced by farmer leader Chandu Chaudhari.

Gujarat is having by-polls in seven constituencies along with the Lok Sabha polls. AAP has replaced Surajsinh Sodha with Rohit Gor in Abdasa, and Dhirubhai Bhakhar with Kanakrai Kanani in Visavadar.
