Press Trust of India New Delhi
Aam Aadmi Party today came down heavily on the central government over the issue of Navodya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) asking all its schools to observe December 25 as 'Good Governance Day'.

"It is extremely shocking that the central government today lied in Parliament about its directive to keep the Navodaya Vidyalayas open on Christmas day," AAP said in a statement.

The Aam Aadmi Party said that long standing tradition of celebrating main festivals in the country must not be disturbed for "political considerations".

"The central government's conduct raises serious questions on its intentions...," the party said and demanded that the HRD Ministry should immediately withdraw the circular and not disturb Christmas celebrations across the country.
