The Aam Aadmi Party today welcomed the Supreme Court verdict that outlawed appeal for votes on the ground of "religion, race, caste, community or language".
The party said the verdict, if taken in the right spirit, would strengthen democracy even as it appealed to its rivals to keep religion and politics separate.
"AAP has always been against the tendency of the established parties to divide voters and society on religious and casteist lines. We welcome the verdict wholeheartedly.
