Angry protests surfaced today at the AAP's city office here with a section of party's local unit claiming that the party candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections does not have social and political background.

Protesting against its Lok Sabha candidate Dileep Yadav, hundreds of party workers gathered at the party office and burnt party caps.

The protesters, after burning the caps, resigned from the party.

"Yadav does not deserve party ticket as he did not have any social and political background in the district..., one of the protesters said.

Meanwhile, city municipality chairman Rakesh Gandhi, who was vying for AAP ticket alleged that the party tickets "were sold at Rs 10-15 lakhs."

"I have also been demanded money during interview for the ticket in Lucknow," he alleged.

AAP leaders were not available for comments.
