After making a comeback into the Indian ODI team, speedster Varun Aaron today said he was eager to make his return in the Indian Premier League.

The 24-year-old last played in the cash-rich tournament during IPL 5 in 2012 representing Delhi Daredevils. He was out of action for 16 months due to a recurring back problem, for which he underwent a surgery.

"I'm really looking forward to playing this season's IPL, especially after having to watch in agony from the sidelines last year. The only reason my name was not in the initial IPL auction list was simply down to some paper work. That's all cleared up now," the Jharkhand player said in a statement issued here.

The pace bowler was part of the Indian ODI team that suffered a 0-4 drubbing at the hands of New Zealand. He picked up four wickets from three matches in the five-match series in New Zealand.

"I think the Ranji Trophy season and now the series in New Zealand have shown that my physical issues of the past are behind me," he said.

The right-arm pacer is part of the Rest of India squad that takes on Ranji champions Karnataka and Aaron said the outing would be useful in sharpening his bowling.

"There's certainly a lot of cricket before the IPL and every opportunity that comes my way before that will prove extremely useful in further sharpening my bowling," he said.
