Abducted 22-year-old girl rescued, one held

An abducted girl hailing from Jammu and Kashmir was today rescued from a house in a locality under Nawada police station area in Bhojpur district of Bihar.

The accused was later arrested, police sources said.

Acting on a tip off, a police team raided a house in Kashyap locality and rescued the abducted girl Nasreen Bashir (22), hailing from Jammu, and arrested the abductor Shambhu Prasad, the sources said.

Prasad had kidnapped the victim last month and brought her to a house here where he changed her name to Komal, they said.

The girl was taken to a hospital for medical check up, the sources said, adding that both the rescued girl and her abductor will be taken to Jammu.
