Abducted boy rescued, one held

The police today rescued a minor boy who was kidnapped and arrested one of his abductors in Saiyan town of Uttar Pradesh, a senior police official said.

The police raided a hide-out and rescued the eleven-year- old Golu Rathore, who was abducted from Geelapura village under Ambah police station area on October 13.

"Golu was safely rescued from Saiyan town today and one of the two kidnappers was arrested," Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Raghuwansh Singh Bhadoria told reporters.

The accused was identified as Manish Sharma, he said, adding, the other abductor Raju Tomar managed to escape, the ASP said.
 

Golu was kidnapped by the duo for ransom and the abductors had demanded Rs 15 lakh from his father Ramvilas Rathore by calling him up on his mobile phone.

However, police traced them later and rescued the boy from captivity, he said.
