Abducted businessmen rescued, 2 arrested

Delhi Police today rescued two businessmen who had been abducted by a group of men travelling in a car and arrested two persons in this regard.

According to police, yesterday night, they received a call at Maurya Enclave police station in North-West District with regard to kidnapping of businessmen Mohrum and Ahmed Ali riding a motorcycle by some men travelling in a Santro car.

"On receipt of the information, a team reached the spot near the new elevated flyover in Pitampura where the motorcycle was found lying. Later, it was found that alleged persons had fled towards Mukarba Chowk... In the meantime, information was received that a Santro car of the same description was parked on service road near Neel Kanth Apartment, Rohini Sector 13.
 

"On receipt of this information, the police team reached the spot and apprehended two persons while two of their associates managed to run away. The arrested were identified as Delhi residents Imran Ahmad (24) and Mohit Garg (31). Efforts are on to arrest the remaining accused," a senior police official said.

While Imran used to work as car accessory dealer, Mohit works as a Tempo driver.

The victims were carrying around Rs one lakh in cash at the time of their abduction, it said.
