Abducted quack rescued

A quack who was abducted eight days ago was rescued from Jorasimar jungle in Jharkhand's Giridih district after the arrest of four of his kidnappers, police said today.

Giridish superintendent of police Kuldip Dwidi said the quack was rescued late last night after the police acting on a tip off cordoned off the area and launched a search.

Four others of the gang, however, managed to escape, he said adding a fire arm was seized from those who were caught.

The man was abducted on October 7 night from his home at Gurha village of the district, where the abductors had enetered on the pretext of being treated and a ransom of Rs 15 lakh was demanded from his family.
 

Raids are on to apprehend the gang members on the run, Dwidi added.
