The Chief Minister assured sailor Mukesh Arya's family that he will take up the issue with the Centre and the External Affairs Ministry to ensure the release of the navy officers who were in the Greek-owned oil tanker hijacked on Thursday.
Mukesh was working as chief petty officer with an Egypt-based shipping company and was on board the Liberian vessel MT Smyrni hijacked in the Arabian Sea, around 600 miles east of Somalia.
