Abducted trader rescued, 5 held

Police today rescued an abducted businessman in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district and arrested five persons, including a woman, in this connection.

Brijesh Chauhan, who runs a medical store in Etah, was allegedly kidnapped on May 24 and his abductors demanded a ransom of Rs 11.5 lakh, police said.

Even after getting the ransom, Brijesh's kidnappers did not release him, they said.

Acting on a tip-off, police searched a house in Rajapur village in Hathras district and rescued the trader.

Five persons, including a woman, allegedly involved in the abduction of the trader, were arrested, police said.
