Abducted woman lecturer rescued

Police refused to give details of those taken into custody.

According to police, the lecturer was reportedly abducted from her house at Marthandam on August 18 and taken to Tirunelveli and Kodaikanal before reaching here last evening.

The woman used to throw pieces of paper mentioning about her plight, whenever she got opportunity and one such note landed in the hands of an hotel employee, where she was locked-in, and another person who in turn informed police,

The woman was handed over to her parents, who had come along with police personnel from Kaliyanvila police station in Kanyakumari district, where the complaint was lodged and taken to the station by a van, they said.
