Abduction of Collector: Centre in touch with Chhattisgarh govt

"We are in regular touch with the state government. Whatever support is needed by them is being given, will be given," Union Home Secretary R K Singh told reporters here.

Naxals abducted 32-year-old IAS officer Alex Paul Menon on Saturday when he was holding a meeting as part of the government's Special Gram Suraj Abhiyan.

The Maoists yesterday set a deadline of April 25 to fulfil their demands that include immediate halt of all police action against them and release of eight fellow comrades. PTI ACB SJY
