With an eye on assembly polls next year, ruling National Conference today began a membership drive in the Kashmir valley.
The drive started with customary renewal of membership of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his father and Union minister Farooq Abdullah.
After receiving their renewed membership from party's district secretary Mushtaq Ahmad Teli, the father-son duo posed for waiting lensmen.
"Once the (membership) drive is completed and the account books updated, elections will be held to various party posts," a party spokesman said here.
National Conference leads a coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir with Congress as a partner.
