"Over 17.95 lakh pilgrims visited the Shiv Khori Shrine in Reasi district till November 5 this year," District Development Commissioner Nirmal Sharma said while reviewing the ongoing development works at Ransoo, the base camp of the cave shrine.
The corresponding year's figures were 12,71,764 during the same period, she said, adding that total 14,32,231 pilgrims visited the holy cave shrine of Shiv Khori during the year 2011.
Sharma said there was a need to speed up the developmental activities at Ransoo to cater to the ever increasing rush of pilgrims to the shrine.
She asked officers of tourism department to gear up their ongoing developmental activities in the town to provide adequate facilities to the pilgrims.
