About 5 lakh tonne wheat arrives in Haryana

About five lakh tonnes of wheat has arrived in Haryana during the current procurement season so far.

A spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said the government agencies have purchased 4.92 lakh tonnes of wheat whereas 8,720 tonnes of wheat have been purchased by millers.

Food and Supplies Department purchased 1.88 lakh tonnes of wheat, HAFED 1.38 lakh tonnes, Agro Industries Corporation 49,642 tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 38,514 tonnes, CONFED 10,958 tonnes and Food Corporation of India had purchased 65,882 tonnes of wheat.

District Kaithal is leading in the wheat arrival where 94,192 tonnes of wheat has arrived in the mandis, followed by Kurukshetra with 67,578 tonnes.
 

In district Sonipat 57,676 tonnes of wheat has arrived in the mandis, in district Faridabad 40,762 tonnes of wheat has arrived.
