Amidst tight security, about 69 per cent of electorates today cast their votes in the elections to the 20 urban local bodies (ULB) spread over nine Western Odisha districts, official sources said.
"An estimated 69 per cent of voters exercised their franchise in 20 ULBs. There is no report of any untoward incident from any place," said R N Sahu, the special secretary at the State Election Commission's office here.
Replying a question, Sahu said polling was held peacefully even in Maoist affected districts.

An estimated 4.93 lakh urban voters sealed the fates of 1,102 candidates in the fray for the post of councillors in 301 wards. The counting of votes will be held on November 23.
Though both Congress and BJP had put up a dismal show in the first phase of civic polls held on September 19.
The ruling BJD had won 47 of the 66 ULBs in the first phase.
