Absconder arrested in J-K's Samba

A man, who was evading arrest in connection with an FIR, was nabbed after four years on Friday in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Surinder Kumar, a resident of R S Pura area of Jammu, was arrested from Tapyal in Ghagwal area, a police spokesman said, adding he was sent to jail.

He said Kumar was wanted in a case registered against him at the Ghagwal police station in 2014.

He is facing charges under Section 188 of the Ranbir Penal Code (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

"The warrant issued against him under Section 512 of the CrPC got executed and the accused was sent to sub-jail Hiranagar in Kathua district," the spokesman said.
