Absconding murder accused arrested after six months

Main accused in a farmer's murder case, who was on the run for past six months, has been arrested by the police at Hind village under the Thanabhawan police station in Shamli district.

The accused identified as Mashook Ali was arrested yesterday, police said, adding that a pistol has been recovered from his possession.

A 55-year-old farmer Zaferyab (55) was shot dead allegedly by five persons over an old enmity at Hind village on June 10.

Police had registered a case against five persons in this connection, out of which four were arrested earlier.

A local court had earlier initiated attachment proceedings against him.
