On a tip off, the absconder, Mahesh Paswan, was arrested from a house in Jainagar police station, Superintendent of Police Ranjit Kumar Mishra said.
Paswan was among 27 prisoners who had escaped during agitation on October 12 when the protestors had tried to torch the jail vehicle carrying them.
Of them, 23 prisoners had returned to the jail but four, including Paswan and Hamidul Rahman, a Pakistani national, went missing.
The SP said Paswan was brought here after production in the court and sent to jail.
Efforts are on to trace the three remaining prisoners, including the Pakistani national, he said.
