Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) today burnt the effigy of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader Bilawal Bhutto over his remarks on Kashmir.

The protest took place at the Board Office square here.

"Pakistan is taking advantage of India's soft stance towards its activities on border and violation of ceasefire. Now Bhutto had given a controversial statement on the issue of Kashmir which is highly condemnable and therefore we set his effigy on fire in protest," a statement issued by ABVP said.

The ABVP is of the opinion that Kashmir is an inseparable part of India and asked the Centre to give Pakistan a befitting reply on the issue instead of holding talks with that nation.

The BJP's student wing also staged similar protests in Indore, Gwalior and Ujjain, it added.

While addressing PPP workers in Multan region in Pakistan, Bilawal had said, "I will take back Kashmir, all of it, and I will not leave behind a single inch of it because, like the other provinces, it belongs to Pakistan.
