ABVP, NSUI and AISA-CYSS announce candidates for DUSU polls

The ABVP, NSUI and the AISA-CYSS alliance announced on Wednesday their candidates for Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) polls slated for September 12.

The RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) announced the candidature of Ankiv Basoya for the post of president. Basoya is pursuing MA in Buddhist Studies. Shakti Singh will be ABVP's vice-presidential candidate. He is studying law at Delhi University's Faculty of Law.

ABVP's Sudhir, who will be contesting for the post of secretary, completed his graduation from Ramjas College and is currently pursuing MA in Buddhist Studies. Jyoti Chaudhary, who will contest for the post of joint secretary as the ABVP nominee, completed her graduation from Vivekananda College and is currently pursuing MA in Buddhist Studies.

 

The Congress-backed National Students' Union of India (NSUI) announced the name of Sunny Chhillar for the post of president. The son of a Delhi Traffic Police assistant sub-inspector, Chhillar graduated from Dyal Singh College and is pursuing Masters from Shivaji College.

Other NSUI candidates are Leena, Aakash Choudary and Saurabh Yadav.

Leena, who will be contesting for the post of vice-president, completed her graduation from Miranda House and is currently pursuing MA in Buddhist Studies.

Aakash Choudary, who will be contesting for the post of secretary, was the union president of Sri Aurobindo College where he did his graduation. He is currently pursuing law.

Saurabh Yadav, the candidate for the post of joint secretary, is currently studying in Motilal Nehru College.

In the joint panel of the CPI(M-L)-backed All India Students Association (AISA) and the Aam Aadmi Party-affiliated Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS), Abhigyan, a student of Ramjas College, will contest for the post of president; Anshika Singh, a student of Dyal Singh College, will contest for the post of vice-president; Chandramani Dev, a student of Law Centre-II, will contest for the post of secretary; and Sunny Tanwar, a student of PGDAV College, will contest for the post of joint secretary.
