Scores of students today carried out a protest rally in south campus of Delhi University, demanding safety of women and adequate hostel facility.

The protestors also demanded installation of CCTV cameras inside the campus to curb crime against women.

"Eve-teasing has become a usual affair these days. Now, the situation has worsened to such level that girls do not feel safe even in the university campus," ABVP national secretary Rohit Chahal, who was part of the protest, said.

The protestors also demanded better transport facility for the students and said though 36 DTC buses were deployed for DU students, on the ground only half of them are operating.

Students wings of various political parties have been very active ahead of students' union elections of Delhi University, scheduled to be held on September 12.
