An academic co-ordinator was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a school principal at Barwani district today by the Lokayukta police, a police official said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) B S Parihar said that Tikri Block's academic co-ordinator Hanif Khan was arrested while accepting a bribe from Chichli village high school Principal Radhashyam Verma.
He said that Khan inspected the high school on June 16 and told Verma that there are discrepancies plaguing it. Khan asked Verma to shell out Rs 10,000 failing which he would write an adverse inspection report which would spoil his career, the police official said.

Khan has been booked under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, he said, adding that further investigations are on.
