Former VC of IGNOU and Mahatma Gandhi University in Kottayam, V N Rajasekharan Pillai, has approached Kerala High Court seeking a direction to the universities to settle his pension and other terminal benefits.

When the matter camp up for hearing, Justice A K Jayasankar Nambiar directed IGNOU and M G University to inform their stand on the issue by June 25.

In his petition, Pillai, who had a distinguished career spanning more than 37 years, said IGNOU and M G University have not disbursed his terminal benefits despite numerous representations by him.

According to him, he was being subjected to considerable hardship by 'unnecessarily delaying' the payment of his terminal benefits.

Before becoming the V-C of IGNOU, Pillai had served as Vice Chancellor of the MG University.
