The International Film Festival of Kerala this year is not only presenting movies to entertain the film buffs, but is also showcasing the state's rich cultural heritage to the delegates.

The main organiser, the Kerala State Chalachithra Academy, has joined hands with the Kerala Folklore Academy, Kerala Kalamandalam, Kerala Sahithya Akademi, Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi, Kerala Lalithakala Akademi, Guru Gopinath Natanagramam and the Bharath Bhavan to showcase folk arts, and put on cultural shows.

It has proven a pleasant filler for delegates from outside and within the state and drawn in crowds, as Kathakali and Mudiyettu artistes put on dramatic shows at the venues.

Also on show are Padayani, Theyyam, street magic, Kerala Nadanam, and Jugalbandhi, apart from a painting exhibition, instrumental music and seminars.
