The Anti-Corruption Bureau in Andhra Pradesh today arrested a municipal commissioner after unearthing assets worth Rs 4.17 crore disproportionate to his known sources of income, an official said.
The sleuths conducted raids simultaneously on the properties of Naidupeta municipal commissioner Avineni Prasad in Tirupati, Nellore and three other places and unearthed large value of disproportionate assets, ACB Director General R P Thakur said in a press release.
Among the properties unearthed in Prasad's name were a G+5 residential building, a flat and residential plot in Tirupati town, two parcels of land in Tirupati town and rural, the release added.
A residential flat and four plots were registered in the name of Prasad's wife Babita. Besides, a three-storied house, residential plot and land were registered in the name of his mother, it said.
