ACB arrests Raj police sub-inspector on graft charges

A Rajasthan Police sub-inspector was today arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000, a senior agency official said.

Gopal Lal Gujjar, who is posted at city Kotwali in Baran city, had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a complainant Shiv Narayan Meena, a resident of Teil Factory area of Baran city for settling a forgery case registered against him, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), ACB, Baran, Rajendra Singh Gogawat said.

He would be produced in the ACB court in Kota tomorrow, he added.

Meena had lodged a complaint with the ACB against Gujjar yesterday.
 

A trap was laid today and the SI was arrested when Meena was handing over the bribe amount to him, the ASP said.
