ACB arrests retired forest officer, seizes huge property

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths arrested a retired forest officer today for amassing property worth at least a crore of rupees more than his known sources of income, ACB sources said here today, adding that his wife, son and four daughters have also been booked.

Informing about the case, SP SD Bawiskar and Additional SP B B Pingat said that accused Shridhar Bhiwaji Tupe, a resident of Kolgarh village of Aurangabad district was arrested.

A case of accumulation of property using illegal means was registered against his him, his wife Padma, son Sharad, daughters Sunita, Meena,Jayashree and Sujata.

Property including house, land, cash and ornaments worth more than Rs 1.6 crore was seized and a search operation was on until Tuesday evening at both his residences in Aurangabad and Thane, ACB sources said.
