ACB arrests vilage revenue officer for accepting a bribe

A Village Revenue Officer (VRO) in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 80,000.

Chengicherla VRO B Sudarshan was allegedly caught red handed by ACB officials on February 1, when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 80,000 from a complainant for doing an official favour, an ACB release said here today.

Sudarshan was arrested after recovery of the tainted amount from him and he was produced before an ACB court in Hyderabad which remanded him into judicial custody, it added.

The case is under investigation.
