Delhi's anti-graft bureau head M K Meena today accused the AAP government in the Delhi High Court of trying to abuse the process of law and said he always acted bona fide and in accordance with law.
Making the submission before Justice V P Vaish, Meena's counsel also said that the present petition by the Arvind Kejriwal government is "misconceived, unfounded and untenable" as they have "failed to point out any specific non-compliance or disobedience wilful or otherwise of the order dated June 29".
On June 29, the court had asked Lt Governor-appointee Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) chief Meena to act in accordance with the law.
Meena in his affidavit said that he in his "capacity as Joint CP, ACB i.E. The head of the ACB has always acted bona fide and in accordance with law. Any allegation to the contrary is clearly misconceived and is denied."
Earlier, the AAP government had alleged that Meena was "not working in accordance with law" and not allowing anyone else to work.
Meena, however, defended his stand and said that he has highest regard for law and holds the orders of the court in the "highest esteem".
He also said he has never had any intention to wilfully disobey any order or direction given by the court.
Meena was responding to a show cause notice issued to him seeking explanation why contempt proceedings should not be initiated against him on AAP government's claim that he had violated the court's order by removing SHO of the anti-graft body.
