ACB sleuths arrest revenue official in corruption case in Raj

A revenue department official in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan was today arrested by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau in a corruption case, an official spokesperson said here.

The Patwari, Hardev Lal, posted in Kasauria gram panchayat of Bhilwara, was held for accepting bribe of Rs 1,200 for transferring of name in land registry paper, the spokesperson said.

The action was taken on complaint of Kunjbihari, who had told ACB officials that Lal had demanded from him a bribe of Rs 1,300 for transferring the name in land registry papers, and the "deal was settled" on Rs 1,200.

The raid was conducted at Revenue Patwari's office in Kasauria where the revenue official was caught red-handed accepting the bribe, the spokesperson said.
 

A case under Prevention of Corruption Act was lodged against him, they added.
