The Anti-Corruption Bureau will probe the alleged corruption and irregularities in the Gosikhurd irrigation project across Wainganga river in Vidarbha, Maharashtra Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan said here today.

"Alleged irregularities in two other important irrigation projects -- Jigaon and Lower Painganga, under VIDC (Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporation) -- will also be probed," the Minister told reporters here.

ACB had also started probe into irrigation projects in Konkan region, he said.

Gosikhurd project has been in controversy over massive cost escalation.

The ruling BJP, when in opposition, had targeted NCP leaders, especially the then Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, over alleged corruption in the irrigation sector.
