A 45-year-old accountant was arrested for allegedly faking a loot of Rs 22.35 lakhs and playing a victim in the incident, police said today.
Gyanchand Jain, a private accountant working for various trading firms, lodged a complaint in Anantpura police station claiming that he was robbed of Rs 22.35 lakhs at gunpoint by two unidentified persons yesterday afternoon while he was returning home, Additional Superintend of Police Rajan Dushyant said.
While investigating the matter, police smelled a conspiracy after reviewing the CCTV footage and loot trails.

Police said Jain pretended to be a victim of the loot and faked the entire incident to meet his girlfriend's demands.
Jain and his girlfriend have been arrested. They would be produced before the court today. Vehicle used in the case has also been seized.
The ASP said that the entire amount of loot has been recovered from Jain.
