Two persons arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with a terror related case were sent by a court here to judicial custody till August 24.

The NIA had yesterday arrested the duo for allegedly planning terrorist activities and the two were produced in the court of District Judge RK Upadhyay.

The arrested persons are Asif Iqbal (26) and Mohammad Atif (27), residents of Kanpur, the NIA said.

According to the NIA, the accused were allegedly linked with an "ISIS-related" module from Kanpur. Iqbal is the cousin of Saifullah, the alleged self-radicalised terror operative, who was shot dead in Lucknow on March 8 in an encounter, the NIA said.

Accused Atif supplied arms and ammunition to the persons in the module, it claimed.
