Amid reports that a man booked for allegedly sexually assaulting minor girls was seen with police personnel in pictures taken at an event here last month, Rachakonda police today said they will verify the matter.

An NGO, Balala Hakkula Sangham (Child Rights Association), which brought forward the pictures, said the accused, M Krishna, was seen along with police personnel attached to Meerpet Police station.

Krishna had been booked under IPC Sections as well as under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act by Meerpet police station.

According to the NGO, Krishna had been arrested in June this year and was later granted bail.

A section of media had also reported that Krishna was spotted in the photographs along with the police personnel.

When asked about it, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Vanasthalipuram Divison), B Bhaskar, said that a blood donation camp had been organised as part of the Police Commemoration Day and people voluntarily came to donate blood.

"The event was organised at a function hall and he (Krishna) may have attended it, but no one was invited and public voluntarily came...Even the Inspector of Meerpet Police station was not aware of his presence," he said.

Asked if any inquiry has been ordered into the matter, the ACP told PTI, "We will verify.
