Ace cinematographer Ashok Mehta cremated

The last rites were performed this afternoon around 1.30 pm after his demise on August 15. Mehta's body was brought back home this morning from Kokilaben Hospital to his house in Andheri.

Host of celebs including Shah Rukh Khan, Arjun Rampal, Priyanka Chopra, Shashi Kapoor, Tabu, Subhash Ghai, Dia Mirza, Manisha Koirala, Farah Khan, Arshad Warsi, Govind Nihlani, Gulshan Grover and others gathered at the crematorium to bid adieu to the departed soul.

The 66-year-old filmmaker-cum-writer is survived by his wife Neerja and a son.

Ashok had many prominent films to his credit, including Shekhar Kapoor's 'Bandit Queen', Shyam Benegal's 'Mandi' and 'Trikaal', Shashi Kapoor's 'Utsav', Subhash Ghai's 'Ram Lakhan' and 'Khalnaayak', M F Hussain's 'Gaja Gamini', multi starrer comedy 'No Entry' and Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chalte Chalte'.
