A 20-year-old girl received serious burns here after her fiance threw acid on her, police said today.
The victim had gone out with her sister last evening when her fiance Raj Kumar of Ambedkarnagar district threw acid on her, In-charge of Nagar Kotwali police station Harpal Yadav said.
The girl was taken to a district hospital from where she was referred to Allahadad, he said.
A case has been registered in this regard following a complaint by her father, police said.
