: Police today warned of action against hotels and lodges and owners of public buildings which do not install closed circuit television as suggested by them.
Superintendent of Police Mayilvahanan told reporters here that police had identified 945 localities for installation of CCTVs in this island town, which had become very sensitive due to alleged threats from terrorists. However only 433 CCTVs had been installed so far.
He said Hospitals,Schools,banks and colleges also had been asked to fix CCTVs at vantage points.
If the police order was not implemented, licences of hotels and lodges would be cancelled, he said.
He said 41 lodges which did not have proper permission from police had already been sealed. He said CCTVs would be installed at Parking areas and the Bus stand.
