Goa government has decided to crackdown on Nigerians habitually involved in crimes in the state, including overstaying despite expiry of their visa.
Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told the state Legislative Assembly today that police have begun action against the Nigerians who are involved in crime and also overstaying in the state.
Police teams would conduct an extensive exercise to find out those who are overstaying, Parrikar said.

The Nigerians, who are here on student visa and are not students, would be deported from the state, he said.
Seventeen Nigerians were arrested last year for drugs related crime, the Chief Minister said.
The issue of increasing involvement of Nigerians was raised by Congress legislator Vishwajit Rane on the floor of the House.
Rane alleged that Nigerians were involved in drug peddling cases and crimes like murders in the state.
