Alleging that the recent deaths of three Ashram school students in the district occurred due to careless attitude of the management, Adiwasi Vidyarthi Sangha today demanded action against the authorities.

Kranti Kerami, district chief of the Sangha, said that on September 29, Chhaya Pungati, student of Ashram School (residential school for tribals) at Kanhalgaon (Chamorshi), passed away after illness.

Subhah Ishtam, student of Indira Ashram School, Sukala (Armori) died on October 3, while Pragati Uike, who stayed at Tribal Girls Hostel here, died at a Nagpur hospital on October 4.

In all the three cases, timely medical help was not given by school/hostel authorities, Kerami alleged.
