Action initiated against nine govt officials found absent

The Udhampur district administration has initiated action against nine officials found absent from duty during routine inspection of Government offices and educational institutions, an official spokesman said today.

Tehsildar Majalta Sourabh Sharma yesterday inspected a number of schools, offices and government offices and found nine officials absent from duty without permission.

"These include Anita Sharma head master, Kiran Bala master, Sanjay Bharti teacher, Narotama Kumari teacher, Sunil Kumar teacher, Raj Kumar, Ram Prasad Junior Assistants, Vijay Kumar master and Anjana Kumari teacher" an official spokesman said.

On the report of Tehsildar Majalta, the Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, has initiated proceedings against absentee officials and Assistant Commissioner Development has been asked to conduct an inquiry into unauthorized absence of teachers from their institutions.
 

He has been asked to start a case of disciplinary proceedings and departmental action against the erring officials.

Show cause notices have also been issued to the absentees for explaining their position.
